I have chosen Wesley Harvey, a ceramic artist who works primarily with found slip cast molds and edits/adds to them. He works with similar themes that are present in my work, but has added the element of production to his latest objects. -Gh
The use of the multiple and the found object are tropes often found in ceramics- I wonder if this is an outmoded approach or a skillful commentary on consumerism and popular culture?
It is. I have to say it was his more installation work that drew me to him the first time. I also prefer the more subtle perversity of the objects rather than the overt.
